Lodz Cemetery , Poland

Photo of Stars of David in Lodz Cemetery is courtesy of "Stefbra" who published it on Flickr and wrote to me
Well I just visited Jewish Cemetery in my hometown, Lodz. Unfortunately, there are no Jews living here today (my grandfather was a secular Jew) but before WW2 1/3 of Lodz's population was Jewish. The cemetery is considered to be the largest Jewish necropolis in Europe.
It reminds me of the verse from Ecclesiastes 5:8
If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a district, don't marvel at the matter: for one official is eyed by a higher one; and there are officials over them.

Weathervane

Star of David Weathervane Photo of a Star of David Weathervane is courtesy of Max Nathans from Kibbutz Matzuva in the north of Israel. It is an important shot since it illustrates that the six points of the Magen David symbolize God's rule in six directions: north, south, east, west, up and down".

The Hebrew words are from Esther 8:15, 17
Then Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal robes of blue and white, with a large crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Susa shouted and rejoiced. For the Jews there was light and gladness and joy and honor.
