Arab Stars of David

When I lived in Gilo Neighborhood (South Jerusalem) I was told that this was the building of a Jordanian judge. Anyway, it's clear that this building  was under Jordanian control until 1967 and Jews were not living there at that time.

The building is located on Hebron Road between Mar Elias Monastery and Gilo

Magen David on a Toyota

Here’s a story: Zako steadily contributes pictures to this blog. He walks about in Jerusalem and photographs Magen Davids. Just now he sent to me this picture of a Magen David on a Toyota. What’s interesting is that I photographed the same car about a month ago, but my photograph was taken in the night with flash whereas his photograph was taken during the day. In my photograph we see the number of the car whereas in his photograph a black patch hides it. Since this car is unique, and parks regularly near my house- I knew where exactly was Zako when he shot it and I didn’t need his explanation.

Shimon Hatzadik was the last of Anshei Knesset Hagedolah. Legend has it that he met Alexander the great in Jerusalem.
The Tomb of Shimon Hatzadik is a controversial place: Arabs and Jews claim ownership on it. I guess that this Magen David is meant to show the Arabs that the place is holy to the Jews. I am quite sure that the drawer didn’t know that the six-pointed star is Muslim not less than Jewish, and in fact it represents coexistence, but if one is satisfied with his ignorance why do I bother to disturb him?

Italian Holy Ark Curtain

I met this Breslau Dancer with his large Star of David pendant in Jerusalem near the Municipality Building at Safra Square on June 3rd 2008, and he let me take this photo of him and his Star of David pendant. I don't think all Breslau followers treat the Star of David as this dancer does - it seems like a private initiative...

Breslau Believer Dancing

Provocative Logo

The Logo of the Temple Mount Movement shows the Temple Mount without the Mosques, and the Hebrew words (see bold letters), which are taken from the Book of Numbers 13:30 call for action:

Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, "We should by all means go up and take possession of it, for we will surely overcome it."

The message of the logo along with the caption provokes to remove the Mosques from the Temple Mount.

The Star of David shape of the Temple Mount appeared already in E.M. Lilien’s Ex Libris made for Prof. Martin Buber, only there the Mosques appear prominently.
