Moroccan Chamsa

Moroccan Chamsa jewish star
Day of Issue: 25/07/2006, Designer: Meir Eshel
This is a replica of a Moroccan Chamsa from 1920. It is made of silver and is decorated with a Star of David. Chamsa is an apotropaic symbol and so is the Star of DAvid - together they seem to have even more power...

Build the Jewish State

Photo of Star of David as a frame to the slogan "invest in Palestine- build the Jewish State is courtesy of "dlisbona" who published it on Flickr along with many other old time posters designed by one of the best Israeli designers Franz Krausz. Each one of these posters plays on my nostalgic nerves and brings me back lost flavors of childhood.

Israel Railways logo

Photo of white Star of David on the old logo of the Israeli Railways Company is courtesy of "dlisbona" who published it on Flickr as part of his nice collection of old posters designed by Franz Krausz. This logo looks similar to the old logo of El Al and like it it looks better IMHO than the logo that replaced it.

Design for El Al logo

Photo of white Star of David on Franz Krausz's El Al logo is courtesy of "dlisboa" who published it on Flickr. It served El Al for a few years and then they decided to replace it in order to fit their new image, nevertheless I like the old logo more than the new – what about you?

The Roof of The Tabernacle

Here's another theoty about the ORIGIN of the jewish star:
Shulamit Gad quotes in her book (published in 2006) King David and the Power of Psalms in page 706 from Rabbi Yosef Bagad’s book titled Yosef Nachalah page 773 that the tabernacle's roof was covered with cut leathers in the shape of isosceles but not equilateral triangles. These triangles were placed one on top of the other in the shape of a prolonged Star of David.
