First Jewish Flag in Jerusalem

Today I got the Brit-Am Now-871 newsletter with the following story:

In 1917 the British forces that conquered (then) Palestine
included a contingent of Anzac soldiers. Among them was a Jewish soldier
from New Zealand named Louis Salek. While serving in Egypt he had made
contact with the local Jewish community and was given a Jewish flag, half
blue and half white, with a Star of David in the middle.
In December 1917, Allenby, the British commander, made his official entry
into Jerusalem on foot, through the Jaffa Gate. Corporal Louis Salek (Za"L)
who had prepared for the moment and had the flag in his backpack, quietly
detached himself from the soldiers and climbed up to the top of David's
Tower and flew the flag! As a result for the first 20 minutes of the
official ceremony in Jerusalem of the British conquest of Palestine, a
Jewish flag was flying from David's Tower. 

Katriina Viljama-Rissanen

Katriina Viljama-Rissanen is first and foremost known as an illustrator of children's books, but her art is also featured on a collection of textiles she designed for Finlayson, and on crockery by Pentik. The artist took great pleasure in the task of designing stamps, both because of the challenge and the subjects. Katriina Viljama-Rissanen says that Tiernapojat, a Christmas tableau based upon the legend of the three kings, has fascinated her since her childhood. This gave her a good reason to study the history of the tableau, its costumes and use of colours. The result of her work is a beautiful stamp featuring the characters of the tableau; King Herod, his servant the Knight, the King of the Blackmoors and the Bearer, carrying a six-pointed star, singing a text on events relating to the birth of Christ.

Pentacles

You can read now online the whole book titled The Key of Solomon (Clavicula Salomonis) Edited by S. Liddell MacGregor Mathers and Revised by Joseph H. Peterson. At the end of the book you'll find a few pentacles (amulets) with hexagrams and captions such as

The sixth and last pentacle of the Moon.-- This is wonderfully good, and serveth excellently to excite and cause heavy rains, if it be engraved upon a plate of silver; and if it be placed under water, as long as it remaineth there, there will he rain. It should be engraved, drawn, or written in the day and hour of the Moon

I ching

Barbara G. Walker wrote on her book The I Ching of the Goddess (Harper & Row, San Francisco 1986 p. 16}

The word hexagram does not really mean an arrangement of parallel horizontal lines {as in the I Ching}. It means a geometric figure composed of two interlocking triangles: the same figure now generally accepted as a symbol of Judaism and even erroneously called the Star of David, or sometimes Solomon's Seal…

This is a most important insight that unifies the main meanings of the hexagram and opens new fields for future research.

President Garfield

Five-cent President Garfield Postage Stamp was issued in 1882. The words "Five" and "Cents" are divided by a large six-pointed star, outlined with white.

The Kabalistic Heart

Mordecai Shia wrote in Tarot Forum:

The downward pointing triangle [and] the upward pointing triangle... form the relationship of the circulation of the "heart" in the sephiroth (the six emotions of the heart), which in turn leads to "speech". Heart here does not mean Tiferet, but rather the circulation through the paths. There are 32 paths on the tree of life, and the number 32 (lamed vet) spells out Lev which is the Hebrew word for Heart. The "six emotions" refer to six sephiroth of Chessed, Gevurah, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod. Speech is strongly related to the energy of manifestation and malkuth, as in the kabalistic viewpoint the divine created everything through "speech". These are all concepts that relate the two triangles (and triangles themselves) as important with regards to evocation and invocation.

Sumerian Cylinder Seal

Zecharia Sitchin found a cylinder seal VA/243 in the Vorderasiatisches Museum in Berlin. This seal is dated to c.2500 B.C.
This seal is decorated with
celestial symbols maybe the Sun
surrounded by the planets.
