Even Sapir
Photo of Star of David on a fence is courtesy of Brian Whitson whom I met in the ICEJ Fair in Binyaney Ha’uma in Jerusalem, which took place during Succoth 2007. Brian wrote to me:
Kari and I were out for a walk today with a friend and came across this double Magen David design on a fence in Even Sapir. Thought you might like it.
Brian is a very talented photographer: He produced a breathtaking book about the wildflowers in the Judean Hills titled Everyday Miracles.
Even Sapir is a village in the Judean Hills.

Old New Seder Plate Arrangement
A Seder Plate for the new Millenium
Photo of Star of David on a Seder Plate for the new Millenium is courtesy of
"gailatlarge.com" who published it on Flickr.
I suspect that the inventor of this arrangement doesn’t know that Rabbi Isaac Luria started the original Star of David Seder Plate arrangement in the 16th century in Tzfat, Israel. Anyhow the idea to modernize the Haggadah was once popular in the Kibbutzim, and new reformist ideas are always interesting.

Ignorance Leads to Mistakes
Ofer Rubin wood Star of David on Yevu Yashir's Booth in Binyaney Ha'uma, International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem (ICEJ ) Fair, Tabernacles 2007. We brought these boxes assuming they fit Christmas trees, but found out that the customers belong to denominations that don't celebrate with a Christmas tree. It was like trying to sell meat in a world convention of vegetarians.
Copper Star of David
Yaniv Shapira's copper Star of David on Yevu Yashir's Booth in Binyaney Hauma, International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem (ICEJ) Fair, Tabernacles 2007. We brought them supposing they fit Christmas trees, but found out that the customers belong to denominations that don't celebrate with a Christmas tree. It was like trying to sell combs in a world convention of bald men.
