This blog (by Zeev Barkan) is dedicated to the Star of David, its history, its various meanings and usages in different cultures. It includes thousands of pictures of Star of David, six-pointed stars, hexagrams, Solomon's Seals, Magen Davids and yellow badges, and served as a resource for three books and four art exhibitions.

Well I just visited Jewish Cemetery in my hometown, Lodz. Unfortunately, there are no Jews living here today (my grandfather was a secular Jew) but before WW2 1/3 of Lodz's population was Jewish. The cemetery is considered to be the largest Jewish necropolis in Europe. It reminds me of the verse from Ecclesiastes 5:8
If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a district, don't marvel at the matter: for one official is eyed by a higher one; and there are officials over them.
Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field
Blessed will you be when you come and blessed when you go
The LORD will bless your barns and everything you do. The LORD your God will bless you in the land that he is giving you.Copyright: Ron Cohen 2007
